Barry Moni�s currently serves as President and CEO of Computronix, LLC a full service technology solutions company that designs, implements and manages data networks and communications infrastructures for small to medium sized businesses. Barry also serves as CEO of Computronix Security Systems Incorporated, a subsidiary company focused on electronic security. Both businesses are housed in the Stamford Technology Center in Stamford, Connecticut. After earning a degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Lowell, Massachusetts in 1987, Barry started and ran several successful Connecticut companies. A consummate entrepreneur, Barry operated various businesses from an automotive resale and repair business to his own real estate investment firm. Having a strong interest in technology, Barry started a technology consulting firm in 1992 providing technology consulting to a wide variety of corporate clients. Over the next five years, Barry created a plan to establish a technology service company and in 1997 Computronix was born. Mr. Moni�s along with his partner Mr. Gleason Greene purchased a 12,000 square foot commercial building in downtown Stamford and opened their door to business. Mr. Greene is a 30 year veteran of technology services with the IBM corporation. Through Mr. Moni�s leadership, Computronix has become one of the forefront technology solutions companies in the New York metropolitan area. The company provides analysis and consultation on a wide variety of IT and computer related services and delivers technology solutions with high ROI benefits to its respective clients. The company has received certification from Microsoft, Compaq, as well as having earned premier status with Cisco Corporation. With a keen interest in international trade, Mr. Moni�s was requested to accompany Connecticut Governor Rowland on his Trade Mission 2000 to the European Community. Mr. Moni�s had the distinct honor of representing the technology community from the State of Connecticut. The trade mission included meetings with political and business leaders as well as introductions to leaders from several European universities. With stops in Ireland and Germany, Mr. Moni�s built strong relationships on behalf of the company and the State of Connecticut. Mr. Moni�s is also noted for his expertise in the area of internet security and the protection of electronic data. Recently, he was invited to participate in a Congressional hearing in Washington, D.C. with Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge on issues relating to internet security and electronic terrorism. Mr. Moni�s has worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on matters related to electronic security, internet forensics, and issues related to network intrusion. Mr. Moni�s has also been a speaker before medical practitioners on issues related to HIPPA regulation and the provisions mandating electronic security. Mr. Moni�s actively participates in several local and regional business organizations including the Stamford Chamber of Commerce on which he serves as an Executive Board member, SACIA, the Fairfield County IT Consortium, the Academy of Information Technology, the International Trade Council and the Connecticut Technology Council. Mr. Moni�s and his company has received media attention in publications such as the Stamford Advocate, the Connecticut Business Magazine, the Fairfield County Business Journal and Forbes magazine. Moni�s believes strongly in community involvement and is active in several non-profit organizations including Stoneage Incorporated, where he holds a position on the Board of Directors, the United Way where he served on the business campaign committee, the Outreach Program for the blind, CTE, JFS, Haven House and the Special Olympics. Mr. Moni�s resides in Stamford, Connecticut where he lives with his wife Indira and his sons Eric and Brandon. |
