Mr. Purser joined FBR in August, 2003 as the Director of Internal Audit. He has held a variety of positions in commercial banking, having run a letter of credit and documentary collections department, sold trade services and cash management products, and worked as a corporate representative on a currency and derivatives trading desk, all for super-regional banks.
In 1993, Mr. Purser joined the FDIC�s Securities, Capital Markets, and Trust Branch, where he wrote supervisory policy, trained examiners, and responded to Congressional inquiries, mostly relating to banks� use of derivative products. He also served on the Systemic Risk Working Group of the President�s Working Group on Financial Markets, and helped develop the FDIC�s Interest Rate Risk examination procedures.
He has worked in the audit field since 1997, and came to FBR after six years in the Audit Department of a regional bank, where from 2000 to 2003 he served as Director of Internal Audit.
Mr. Purser is a graduate of Duke University.
Mr. Purser reports directly to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors; administratively to the President and COO. |
