Dr. Benedict Schiefelbein, with more than 20 of industry and laboratory experience, is the manager of RJLG's laboratory in San Leandro, CA. He is responsible for day-to-day direction of teams responding to client's requests for materials, forensic, and chemical analyses, as well as for sales and marketing activities. His main field of specialization is the characterization of materials using surface analytical techniques and chemical instrumentation. He is knowledgeable in the use of auger electron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy/energy and wavelength X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, X-ray photo electron spectroscopy and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. He has a strong background in the chemistry and microstructure of building materials and the characterization of materials for the semiconductor and disc drive industries. Prior to RJLG, he was the SEM/surface manager at BalazsLaboratory in Mountainview, CA. There, he set up a materials analysis lab specializing in failure analysis and microcontamination. Dr. Schiefelbein has published in peer-reviewed literature and testified as an expert witness. He has one patent: Ost, B.W., B. Schiefelbein, and J. M. Summerfield, "Very High Early Strength Cement," U.S. Patent #3860433, July 14, 1975. |
