Ben joined Applied Industrial Technologies in August 1994 as branch sales manager of the company�s Pittsburgh, PA service center. Within a year he was named branch manager. In 1996, Ben became marketing manager-bearing products and relocated to the company�s headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. He was then promoted to marketing director-bearing products.
In November 1998, Ben was named area vice president for the Northwest area. He became area vice president for the Midwest area in 2000. Ben was elected executive vice president and chief operating officer effective February 1, 2007. He will succeed Bill L. Purser, president & chief operating officer, upon his retirement at the end of 2007.
Before joining Applied, Ben spent nine years as a senior account representative for SKF Bearing Services in Pittsburgh. He also worked in sales and marketing for the Nuttall Gear Corporation and Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Buffalo, New York.
Ben is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in mining engineering. He later earned his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He resides in Hudson, Ohio, with his wife, Jan, and their three children. |
