Dr. Liptzin oversees all of Baystate�s psychiatric services. He also serves as Professor and Deputy Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine. Prior to coming to Baystate, he served as Associate General Director of McLean Hospital and Director of the Geriatric Education Center at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Liptzin is a nationally recognized expert in geriatric psychiatry. Dr. Liptzin graduated Magna Cum Laude and with Honors with Exceptional Distinction in Psychology from Yale College. He graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and did his residency in psychiatry at the University of Virginia School Hospital. He then served 4 years in the Public Health Service at the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Liptzin currently serves as the Secretary-Treasurer-elect of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and has previously served as Trustee-at-Large of the American Psychiatric Association. He is the Chair of the Committee on Aging of the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry. He currently serves on the Board of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Alzheimer�s Association and on the Jewish Federation of Greater Springfield. He also serves on the Board of Health New England, the Greater Springfield IPA, Baycare Health Partners, the Baystate Health Foundation and the American Psychiatric Association Political Action Committee. |
