Bernard Grotell is a Partner with Loeb & Troper and is involved with consulting services to and audits of not-for-profit and health service organizations. He has had audit and consulting responsibilities for numerous health care agencies, including hospitals, nursing homes and medical practices. He has also worked with major fund-raising organizations and trade associations.Mr. Grotell has an extensive background in all issues relating to tax and accounting issues and reimbursement rate analyses and appeals. His experience includes all phases of consulting and audit services for health care organizations. He has lectured and written articles on accounting and tax issues for exempt organizations.Mr. Grotell entered public accounting in 1972 and has been actively engaged in work for health care organizations ever since. He graduated from the Bernard M. Baruch College with a BBA degree in 1972 and has completed all his courses towards an MBA in information sciences. He received his CPA certificate in New York in 1975. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and an advance member of the Health Care Financial Management Association. He has served as Chairman of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants' Committee on Exempt Organizations and has previously served on the State Society Health Care Committee, the Committee for Computer Usage and Data Processing, and the Not-for-Profit Organizations Committee. He currently is a member of the Governmental Accounting Committee. He has also served on many committees within the Health Care Financial Management Association. |
