As a member of the Client Technology Services Group, Beth Nelson works with attorneys throughout the firm on matters relating to complex electronic discovery issues and technology needs. She has been heavily involved with the legal technology industry for more than 20 years.
Beth consults with attorneys, both within and outside the firm, to recommend and implement efficient and cost-effective legal technology solutions. Among other things, Beth makes strategic recommendations regarding eDiscovery issues; designs, implements and manages complex case document reviews and productions; manages vendor services, writes RFPs and analyzes resulting vendor proposals to make recommendations to case teams; and helps to automate and streamline workflow, resulting in substantial cost and time savings for firm clients. She also prepares courtroom graphics and assists in trial preparation and at trial, particularly on the use of the most effective presentation technologies.
Beth has been the sole non-attorney in the courtroom on several prominent commercial matters in Minnesota in recent years, including the SEC's enforcement proceeding against Piper Capital Management and an ownership dispute involving the Mall of America. Courts have commented that her trial graphics are "eye-catching" and "extremely effective."
Additionally, Beth is a member of the firms Electronic Discovery Response and Legal Team and has assisted with defining and developing Leonard, Street and Deinards eDiscovery Best Practices.
Before joining the firm in 1989, Beth was a litigation paralegal at the Kutak Rock firm.
