Beth Hurter is the Director of Product Development for CapMed, A Division of Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc. She leads the architecture design and the development of the CapMed Personal Health Record. Ms. Hurter has over 10 years of software engineering experience in the Healthcare IT industry. In addition to working with Personal Health Records for 9 years, she also spent several years with Electronic Healthcare Systems as technical lead and director of development for the ChartRevolution Electronic Medical Record. Prior to entering the Healthcare IT industry, Ms. Hurter worked as a software engineer on several government defense programs and was a systems engineer, defining the requirements for the onboard software systems to manage and control payload operations for the NASA International Space Station. Ms. Hurter is active on many committees committed to the electronic exchange of medical information, including the HL7 EHR-PHR Linkage Work Group, the ASTM E31 standards group for the Continuity of Care Record, and the CCR Acceleration Task Force. She also participates in the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) demonstrations and workshops. Her work on these committees is dedicated to ensuring that emerging data standards support the interchange of data between the healthcare provider and the patient through the personal health record. Ms. Hurter graduated with honors from Murray State University, where she was active in several honors societies. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Physics with emphasis in Computer Science. |
