Betty H. Brown of Antioch, Tenn., was elected to the Board of Directors on November 1, 1999. Betty serves on the Board of the Woodmen of the World Middle Tennessee Fraternal Activities Association for Woodmen of the WorldCamp Ta-Ni-Si, and has been active in the Tennessee Fraternal Congress (TFC), having been named TFC's Outstanding Fraternalist of the Year in 1991. She is a member of Nashville, Tenn., Lodge 1. Brown served two terms as secretary of Woodmen of the World's Tennessee Jurisdiction, one term as Jurisdictional vice president and was Tennessee Jurisdictional president from 1989-1991. From 1991 to 1993, Brown served on Woodmen of the World's National Fraternal Committee, and was elected a national representative to the Woodmen of the World National Convention in 1997. She was also chairman of the National Convention Credentials Committee in 1997 and was appointed to the Woodmen of the WorldNational Legislative Committee. A native of Lewisburg, Tenn., Brown retired in December 2004 after a career of more than 46 years with the State of Tennessee, including 34 years as personal secretary to the Comptroller of the Treasury. Brown has been active in her community. She serves as a director of the Cane Ridge Community Club and is a member of the Tusculum Church of Christ; American Legion Auxiliary; United Daughters of the Confederacy and work-related organizations including membership in the International Association of Administrative Professionals. |
