Betty K. Moore received her BA from Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1961. After graduation, she began teaching at HISD in Houston. After taking a leave for 8 years to raise children, she resumed teaching in a private school for 2 years. In 1973, she joined The Village School, a nursery school of 80 students and became the director. She developed the school over the years and has continued for 33 years as director, moving to the present location in 1984. The new school grew to over 700 students. In addition to her duties as director of The Village School, Mrs. Moore serves as president of the Texas Alliance of Accredited Private Schools and as a commissioner of TEPSAC, the Texas private schools association. |
