Bev is a partner in the litigation department and focuses her practice on employment law advising and litigation. Bev practices in both North and South Carolina, serving the needs of clients in both states. Her practice began with an active trial practice in the insurance defense industry in South Carolina over 25 years ago; in that work, Bev defended serious personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits and medical malpractice suits against physicians and hospitals. During this time, she obtained numerous defense verdicts after lengthy trials. Bev also defended hundreds of workers compensation claims on behalf of businesses across the state, as well as handling a variety of employment related matters.
In the mid-1990's, Bev decided to concentrate her practice in the employment arena. In addition to litigating typical employment claims involving discrimination claims and non-compete and handbook disputes, she counsels self-insured clients in workers' compensation matters and also handles a variety of occupational safety issues. Bev also works with the firm's employee benefits practice group on matters related to executive compensation, stock agreements and employee benefit plans.
