Bill Herzig is senior vice president of Purchasing, responsible for the Seafood, Land Based Protein, Capital Equipment, Smallwares, Bakery, Produce, Dairy and Energy supply chains. In this position, Bill is responsible for $1.4 Billion in annual purchases, as well as Seafood Sales. Prior to joining Darden Restaurants in February 1997, Bill was employed by Rich-SeaPak, a $250 million food producer based in St. Simons, Georgia, where, most recently he held the title of Senior Vice President, Operations, Procurement, Quality Assurance and Commodity Sales. His early assignments were in Operations Management, Corporate Special Projects including acquisition research and implementation, where he progressed from Manager of Manufacturing Services to Executive Assistant to the President, to Vice President of Operations, and then on to Corporate Senior Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. Bill is active in industry trade associations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the National Fisheries Institute. He also serves on the Board of Directors and as Vice President of the Global Aquaculture Alliance. Bill previously owned his own consulting business, which focused on developing and implementing procurement and operational process improvements. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. |
