Bill McCandless is 15 year veteran of local and network TV news. He served as senior producer at CNBC since 2002 where he ran the show units "Squawk Box" and "Closing Bell". Most recently he helped develop and launch the prime time show "On The Money " which he ran leading up to the time he joined TheStreet.com in July 2007. Prior to that McCandless led show units at NBC and MSNBC cable. From 1996 to 2000 he was executive producer at WHDH in Boston overseeing breaking news and daily news coverage for the NBC affiliate's many news broadcasts and web site. Earlier from 1992 to 1996 he worked in several of America's top local TV newsrooms from Tampa Fla. to Charlotte N.C. McCandless has been honored in his field as an accomplished producer having won both an Emmy Award and a National Headliner Award for Breaking News. Additionally McCandless has received nominations for three National Business News Emmys one Regional Emmy Award and one Loeb award. McCandless holds a bachelor's degree from Emerson College in Boston and has participated in Graduate studies at Poynter Institute for Media Studies.
