Bill McGurk provides the business vision and executive leadership for Excel Premier Services. Following a decorated career with the United States Marines where he was responsible for the installation and operation of communication centers nationwide, Bill joined EDS in 1986 where he coordinated the creation of a national network control center including site preparation, systems installation, and the establishment of a network control team. In addition, Bill championed the replacement of a costly land-based telecommunications network with satellite-based communications technology.
Bill joined Storage Technology in 1989 as Regional Systems Engineer responsible for over three hundred AS/400 and System 38 accounts. In addition to systems management and consulting for Storage Technology clients, Bill produced and conducted regional seminars for management and user groups as well as provided training on several aspects of AS/400 operation. Bill was awarded the National System Support "XL'ENCE" award for 1991.
Joining EMC Corporation in 1992, Bill led the technical support for over six hundred AS/400 clients. Accomplishments with EMC included designing and leading data center migrations, CPU upgrades and DASD conversions for companies including Rohm and Haas, Loreal Cosmetics, and Kings Supermarkets. While at EMC, Bill was recognized as Outstanding Systems Engineer for three consecutive years.
In 1995, Bill founded Excel Premier Services, Inc. providing technology services including new data center implementation and relocation of existing data centers, systems integration, Microsoft solutions, AS/400 services, LAN/WAN Connectivity, application design, project management, outsourcing solutions, DRP assistance and leasing alternatives, and training. Excel has provided services for multiple Fortune 1000 firms including Pfizer Pharmaceutical, Lykes Brothers, Cox Enterprises, and CP Ships. |
