Bill provides management advisory services for growth companies and private equity firms after a series of diverse management roles at major U.S. corporations. He was most recently at UnitedHealth Group, where he was a senior executive responsible for identifying strategic future-growth initiatives for the company and leading their development. Pelfrey was President of Consumer Solutions, UnitedHealth's consumer-focused business segment as well as president of HealthAllies, an early innovator in consumer health. Bill joined UnitedHealth Group in 2001 as President of Optum, a premier provider of decision support services within the Specialized Care Services division. He led the transformation of Optum from an EAP/Nurseline business into a decision support company with a broad portfolio of services from wellness programs to disease management services. Previously, Bill was a Managing Director with U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, a growth company investment bank. There he led the development and success of Piper's Venture Capital Services Group and was a member of the Investment Committee for two funds including a late-stage private equity fund. Prior to Piper Jaffray, he was a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting's reengineering and change management practices. Bill has also had the opportunity to pursue a longtime passion, documentary filmmaking. Most recently, he earned his first producer credit for his work on FAT: What No One Is Telling You a 90-minute documentary about managing obesity. Bill earned his MBA from Stanford University and his B.S. in economics from St. John's University, where he graduated summa cum laude. |
