Bill Smith serves as the Vice President of Finance for Novell. In this position he has responsibility for the worldwide finance function in sales, marketing, professional services and product development in addition to corporate financial planning & analysis.
Prior to this position, Bill was the Vice President, Corporate Development and Investor Relations. In this position, he managed significant elements of Novell's acquisitions, venture capital investments and licensing transactions and was also responsible for all aspects of the company's investor relations program.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith served as Vice President, Investment Banking at Cowen & Co., a leading technology investment bank. Prior to that, over his career he has a held a variety of positions in investment banking at The Bridgeford Group, Morgan Stanley & Co. and Merrill Lynch & Co.
Mr. Smith holds a BA in History from Dartmouth College and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. |
