As the corporate vice president for Microsoft North America, Bill Veghte leads Microsoft's sales, services and marketing efforts in the United States and Canada. He is responsible for aligning Microsoft's marketing, sales, partner and services organizations in this geography to deliver optimal value for customers and strong business results for partners.
Before taking his current position, Veghte was corporate vice president for the Windows Server Group, overseeing development and marketing of Microsoft Windows server operating systems. Under his leadership, the team delivered market-leading revenue growth and launched several award-winning server products, including Small Business Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003. Prior to that, Veghte was corporate vice president of Microsoft's Embedded and Appliance Platforms Group, leading the development and marketing efforts for such products as Windows CE and Windows Embedded. Veghte joined Microsoft in 1990 and has held a variety of positions in software development and marketing from Microsoft Office to Windows. Veghte is known for his energy, his passion for what technology can do for customers and how partners can help deliver that value.
Veghte graduated with honors from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian studies. Currently living in the Seattle area, Veghte is an active leader in the community and an avid outdoorsman who loves to backcountry ski, climb, and fish with his wife and two sons. |
