Mr. Matthews brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a wealth of financial reporting expertise to his position as a board member where he has served since 1965. From 1966 to 1971, Blaine gained valuable financial reporting skills while working as a management consultant for a CPA firm where he specialized in computer system analysis and design. Blaine then went to work for the Williams Mfg. Co. (the predecessor to Escalade) from 1971 to 1973, in charge of mergers and acquisitions. As an entrepreneur Mr. Matthews founded a data processing service, which he operated for five years providing general ledger services to accountants and small businesses using timeshare programs that he designed and wrote. In 1979, together with his wife, he founded Matthews 1812 House, a successful mail order supplier of supplier of cakes, candies and gifts. Blaine obtained an MBA from Columbia University in 1961. |
