Blake Grossman oversees and directs the strategic development of BGI's global business. He also has primary responsibility for BGI's active and enhanced investment strategies globally and the institutional businesses based in the US. He is a member of BGI's Executive Committee and a board member of Barclays Global Investors UK Holdings Limited. Blake was previously global chief investment officer with overall responsibility for the investment management, research, and business activities of the Advanced Active Strategies Group, the unit focused on BGI's systematic active and enhanced strategies globally. Blake founded BGI's Advanced Strategies Group in 1992, after serving as the head of BGI's indexed and enhanced equity strategies worldwide. He joined BGI in 1985, with responsibility for the launch and management of the US Alpha Tilts enhanced equity funds. His research on the investment implications of divestment decisions, co-authored with William F. Sharpe, was awarded a Graham and Dodd Award by the Financial Analysts Journal in 1986. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University, where he received BA and MA degrees in economics. |
