Bliss joined the firm in 1986 after nine years with an international accounting firm and one year as the CFO of a financially distressed public company. He concentrates in the area of providing accounting, advisory and auditing services to not-for-profit organizations and privately held businesses.
Bliss received a B.S. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Georgia. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of CPAs. He currently serves on the Not-for-Profit Organization's Audit and Accounting Guide Task Force and Expert Panel as well as a subgroup that is making recommendations to the Office of Management and Budget on the implementation of SAS 112 to single audits. He is also a frequent speaker on nonprofit financial and tax topics and is the coordinator for the Tax Exempt Association (TEA) Group, a monthly roundtable discussion group focusing on accounting, tax and administrative issues faced by nonprofit organizations. Bliss has also been invited to serve on the planning committee for AICPA Not-For-Profit Industry Conference which is held annually in Washington D.C.
Bliss is active in numerous civic organizations and enjoys playing tennis, traveling and relaxing at the lake. |
