Bob Flynn juggles the roles of illustrator, artist, animator, game designer, and interactive designer at FableVision. He was born in Buxton, Maine and raised on Saturday morning cartoons (when they were good!), and began creating his own comics at an early age. This eventually landed him in art school at Washington University in St. Louis where he earned his BFA in Visual Communications. The right side of Bob's brain would prefer doodling weird creatures and characters all day (and wins out most of the time), but the left beckons him to explore technical dorky computer stuff. His background includes formal training in graphic design and illustration with many years of experience in Flash from both an artistic and technical side. He is also skilled in web page construction in XHTML utilizing CSS, XML, and JavaScript. In his years at FableVision so far, Bob has contributed to countless animated projects and designed all sorts of games, working with clients such as the National Academy of Sciences, Carnegie Hall, Scott Foresman, and MIT. Bob's artistic pursuits complement his technical interests. He strives to bring visually rich narrative experiences to the online medium. In what spare time he can muster up, Bob is an astronomy and physics enthusiast (a.k.a. science buff), reading up on the latest trends and discoveries in science. Driven by an obsession with offbeat cartoons grounded in inane optimism (often tainted by the grotesque), he keeps busy creating nonsensical creatures and characters to spin into comics and illustrations. Bob's illustrations have appeared in Nickelodeon Magazine, Improper Bostonian, and Seattle Metropolitan Magazine. You're more than welcome to stop on by his personal Web site: Jinx the Monkey, home to animal folk and nonsensical creatures! And for a steady drip of artwork, check out Bob's sketchblog, Drip! |
