Prior to joining Do it Best Corp. in 2001, Bob served as president of Taylor�s Do it centers in Virginia Beach, VA, bringing over 25 years of hardware retailing experience to the management team. Named one of the 1999 National Home Center News People to Watch, Bob served for six years on the Do it Best Corp. board of directors and as chairman of the board for two years. Bob has taken a variety of leadership positions within his local community, serving as Chairs of the Virginia Beach Chamber of Commerce, the local United Way campaign, and the Better Business Bureau. He served as Do it Best Corp. senior vice president of operations in 2001, overseeing hardware products and LBM purchasing, retail logistics, retail marketing, and international development. He was named as Mike McClelland�s successor as president and CEO in November 2001 and became the co-op�s fourth president and CEO on January 1, 2002. Bob has continued his participation in civic and charitable activities with involvement locally on Corporate Council and as chair of the United Way�s Major Gifts campaign. Bob also serves on the national board of directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. |
