After graduating from law school, Brenda joined a large Boston law firm where she worked in the corporate department, specializing in securities and bank regulation. She later worked for two Legal Services offices in the Boston area, focusing on public benefits and employment law. She joined Doherty, Wallace, Pillsbury & Murphy in 2001, where she practices in the areas of corporate law, estate planning, and taxation. While in Boston, Brenda spent seven years as a member of a Human Rights Committee for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, and currently serves in a similar advisory capacity for the Community Re-Entry Program of the Center for Human Development. She is a member of the Education Committee of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, is Vice Chair of the Springfield Board of Appeals, on the Board of Directors of Western Mass. Legal Services, and participates in the firm's Boland School tutoring program for elementary school students. Brenda lives in Springfield. |
