Brian A. McGill is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office and is a member of the Firm's Trial Department and Environmental Practice Group. Brian has extensive environmental litigation experience in the areas of hazardous waste, air and water pollution, pesticides and asbestos. He has advised clients in complex environmental class action litigation involving MTBE and its use as a fuel additive.
Brian provides regulatory counseling on environmental matters. He has counseled clients on air emissions credit trading issues and fuels issues relating to the oxygenated fuels and reformulated fuels programs.
Prior to joining the Firm, Brian was a staff attorney at the Portable Power Equipment Manufacturers Association. In that position, he served as an industry representative for groups such as the Air Quality Standards Coalition and the Reformulated Gasoline Task Force Education Subgroup, and participated in the Regulatory Negotiations with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for non-road emissions regulations. He is the author of an article entitled "Developments in Nuclear Safety and Waste Disposal," published by the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review.
During law school, Brian was the administrative editor of the Georgetown International Environmental Law Review. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Brian is fluent in Spanish.
