Brian Kardell joined Lee as manager of systems operations in 1991. He became director of information systems in 1995, chief information officer in 1997 and vice president in 2001, responsible for the company�s systems, data management, networks, telecommunications and application of technology. In 2003 his responsibilities were expanded to include major production processes and expenditures.
Among recent accomplishments, Brian successfully leveraged a state-of-the art circulation system that we developed ourselves into a partnership with a major newspaper software vendor, and he and his team helped Lee pioneer the use of technology to streamline advertising orders.
Before joining Lee, Brian was a systems development manager for Andersen Consulting. He is a member of the board of directors of the John Deere Classic Golf Tournament, Junior Achievement and the Newspaper Research Center in Oklahoma City, and is on the advisory board for the Computer Science Department at St. Ambrose University. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa. |
