Dr. Baynes co-founded Codon Devices in 2004 while a Venture Associate with Flagship Ventures. He was responsible for Codon�s day-to-day operations and led development of the BioFAB Platform from startup through the Company�s first revenue recognition in late 2005. Prior to becoming President in October 2007, Dr. Baynes was Codon�s Chief Scientific Officer. Before joining Codon Devices, Dr. Baynes was an engineer in process automation and composition modeling at Mobil Oil and a Station Director in the MIT School of Chemical Engineering Practice at Mitsubishi Chemicals and General Mills. He has also worked closely with several startup companies in the biotech space. Dr. Baynes did his PhD research in protein stabilization with Bernhardt Trout and Danny Wang at MIT. He is the recipient of the W. H. Peterson Award from the American Chemical Society and the Serge N. Timasheff Award from the University of Colorado. |
