He has worked with numerous clients and led engagements across the energy industry to improve supply chain performance. These engagements included organizational assessments and transformations; development and implementation of e-sourcing and e-commerce strategies; development and execution of category specific sourcing strategies; performing warehousing and logistics assessments and enhancement programs; and development of inbound freight programs.
Professional Experience
Led an engagement with a major electric utility in an organizational transformation that not only redesigned the supply chain organization but also developed its e-commerce strategy; developed and executed category specific sourcing strategies; developed total cost of ownership (TCO) models; implemented an electronic settlement application; and developed an inventory optimization strategy. This work prominently supported the customer in achieving in excess of $150 million savings in 3 years.
For a gas transmission and processing company, designed its large capital project execution strategy. Developed strategy for its engineering discipline and project management, as well as developing and executing sourcing strategies for the major equipment associated with these large projects. This resulted in $30 million savings.
For the same company, led an initiative to redesign its work planning and contractor utilization process for its growing outsourced routine maintenance and small project work. This resulted in a reduction from 50 contractors to 3 and a centrally coordinated work planning process.
For a large electric and gas utility, developed an organizational design strategy that supported both the strategic and operational needs of the supply chain organization. In implementing the specific strategy, employee assessments, job descriptions, and performance metrics were developed. This engagement also included the analysis of approximately $1.5 billion annual spend and the development of a sourcing plan to save the customer $100 million in 3 years.
For an electric utility customer with $2.25 billion in future capital project expenditures in electric transmission, air quality equipment, and pipeline installations, developed its strategy for engineering, procurement, and construction management. The strategy was developed to ensure cost effective execution of projects in a constrained market for resources, equipment, and materials.
