Brian Segal is President and CEO of Rogers Publishing, Rogers Media. In this role he oversees the growth of Rogers iMedia. Before taking on these responsibilities he was Publisher of Maclean's magazine and Executive Vice President in the Publishing company. Prior to joining Rogers he was president of the University of Guelph and chair of the Council of Ontario Universities. He was president of Ryerson Polytechnic University from 1980 to 1988.
Mr. Segal was chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Institute of Nutrition, chair of the Government of Canada's National Innovations Advisory Committee and a director of IBM Canada, Union Gas, Sun Life Trust and Schneider Corporation. He is past chairman of Magazine's Canada and is past chairman of the Shaw Festival.
Brian Segal has demonstrated an ability to contribute at the highest level in both the private and public sectors and brings together the right mix of intellectual, people and leadership skills necessary in today's publishing environment.
Mr. Segal holds an undergraduate degree from McGill University. He received Masters degrees from Yeshiva University in New York and from the University of Pittsburgh, where he also obtained a Ph.D. in 1971. He is married and has three children.
