Brian Short is chief executive officer of Leamington, Co., a Twin Cities-based holding company with interests in transportation, community banking, agricultural products and real estate. Prior to that position, he served for five years as a magistrate of the U.S. District Court.
Since 1985, Short has been a settlement mediator, assisting in resolving complex litigation disputes. He spent 10 years as a trustee in the Dalkon Shield resolution, and was one of five trustees of the Dalkon Shield Trust, which distributed more than $3 billion to eligible recipients before ceasing operations in 2000.
Short is a member of the Minnesota State and Ramsey County Bar Associations, the Florida Bar, Federal Bar Association and Federal Magistrate Judges Association. He is also a member of the Minnesota Bank Holding Company Association. He currently serves as a board member of C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc.
He has served the community on a variety of boards, including Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, St. Joseph's Home for Children, St. Thomas Academy, the University of St. Thomas College of Law and William Mitchell College of Law.
Short has a bachelor's degree in economics and Latin American studies from the University of Notre Dame, and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School. |
