Br�na Heenan is an associate in the international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery/Stanbrook LLP, based in its Brussels office. She is a qualified solicitor and a member of the Firm�s European Competition practice. She has practiced in Brussels for over ten years and her practice focuses on EU competition law, with an emphasis on the application of Articles 81 and 82 to intellectual property matters. She also has extensive experience in the application of the public sector and utilities procurement rules.
Br�na is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and a member of the Brussels Bar.
Representative Experience
Representing complainants before DG Competition of the European Commission on the subject of patent settlement/non assertion agreements, technology licensing pools and intellectual property licensing agreements.
Representing clients accused of anti-competitive behavior as a result of complaints to DG Competition.
Representing clients before EC and UK merger control and competition authorities on mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures.
Advising contracting authorities (State, regional/local authorities and public bodies) utilities and bidders on the application of EU public procurement rules (government contracting).
Advising on developments arising out of EU case law, the new legislative package (Directives 2004/17/EC and 2004/18/EC) as well as legislative proposals regarding remedies and the application of the procurement rules in the defense sector.
