Bruce K. Riggs, 43, is responsible for Operations, Customer Care and Quality. A 17-year veteran of the computer industry with the substantial portion of that spent in operations, supply chain and logistics roles serving global markets, Riggs joined Gateway from Quanta Computer Inc., where he was senior vice president, Corporate Service Operations and Quality, with responsibility for that company's worldwide service operations and configuration centers in the United States, Europe and Asia.
At Gateway, he holds primary responsibility for Operations, Customer Care and Quality functions including original design manufacturing (ODM) management, logistics, procurement and forecasting, customer service and quality. He also will oversee the design and operation of Gateway's new U.S. assembly plant.
Before joining Quanta, Riggs was with Dell Inc., where he served as the vice president, Operations and Quality, Client Product Group, with responsibility for new product readiness, sustaining operations and life cycle management for Dell's notebook, desktop and workstation product lines. Before Dell, he spent five years with Compaq Computer Corp. in a number of operations-related positions of increasing responsibility, including vice president, World-Wide Order Management & Logistics.
Riggs earned a bachelor's degree in Economics and Spanish at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisc., and holds a masters degree in Business Administration from Indiana University. |
