Description of Practice:
Bruce Hyman is Of Counsel in the firm's San Francisco office and is a member of the firm's Real Estate and Finance Groups. He is nationally recognized for his substantial experience in real estate law, including real estate finance, sales and acquisition, environmental leasing, property management, and brokerage. He also advises clients on structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing large commercial transactions, and in workouts, foreclosures and bankruptcy transactions. Representative clients include large-scale institutional lenders (such as life insurance companies, pension funds, real estate investment trusts and banks), developers, property managers and mortgage bankers. Mr. Hyman was an expert witness in the landmark case of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of New York v. Butler in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Hyman speaks frequently to the Practicing Law Institute, California Mortgage Bankers Association, Mortgage Bankers of America, National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and Continuing Education for the Bar of the California State Bar.
Mr. Hyman is a member of the American College of Mortgage Lawyers, the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and the Taxation Sections of the American Bar Association, the National Association of Public Pension Lawyers, and is general counsel emeritus to California Mortgage Bankers Association.
Educational History:
Mr. Hyman received his B.S. degree from University of California in 1954, and his J.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, in 1957. He is admitted to practice in California. |
