Dr. Pomeranz completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from the University of Illinois (Chicago, IL). He served as chief resident in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Mt. Sinai Medical Center (New York, NY). In 1994, he became board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and, in 1997, received board certification in electrodiagnostic medicine.
Dr. Pomeranz joined Kessler in 1993 with a specialty in electrodiagnosis, musculoskeletal, and amputee rehabilitation. He served at Clinical Chief of Medical Services, at Kessler's East Orange facility before being named Associate Medical Director of the Saddle Brook facility. His major research areas include deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis and pain.
Dr. Pomeranz has lectured extensively throughout the Kessler system and the UMDNJ-NJ Medical School (Newark, NJ) and received a medical teaching award. He co-authored an article on the use of opioids in managing chronic pain and has made presentations before the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. |
