H.J. Butch von Weller is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in finance and banking from the college of business administration. Upon graduating, he received a commission in the US Army and attended Infantry Officers Basic Training at Ft. Benning, Ga.
After completing his service, Butch went to work for a large regional general contractor in Central Florida as an Assistant Project Manager. During the construction boom in Central Florida that followed the opening of Walt Disney World, Butch oversaw the construction of commercial swimming pools for Tuttle/White Constructors.
In 1974, Butch founded Weller Pools and began applying the general construction techniques he had learned to the commercial swimming pool industry. These policies and procedures were the foundation on which the company was built.
From the beginning, Weller Pools has operated with the philosophy that pricing the work correctly the first time is the key to a successful project for the owner and the contractor. Weller Pools has used computer generated estimates for well over 20 years. Butch is a very active member of the Central Florida community and of several charitable organizations. He has served as President of the Florida Citrus Sports Association, is a founder of the Downtown Athletic Club, has served on the American Diabetes Associations (ADA) national research board, and currently serves on the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business Board of Overseers. |
