Cameron Baker joined the firm as Of Counsel in November of 2005. Since then, he has focused on securities class actions. Mr. Baker currently serves as one of the lead attorneys for the class in Jaffe v. Household Int'l, Inc., Lead Case No. 02-C-5893 (N.D. Ill.).
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Baker was an Assistant City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco. In this capacity, he represented San Francisco in a number of significant and intriguing cases. His first case at the City Attorney�s office was the tobacco litigation brought by the city under California Business and Profession Code section 17200. After the settlement of that case, he represented the city in similar suits against the firearms industry and the energy industry. Subsequently, when PG&E declared bankruptcy, Mr. Baker represented the city in the PG&E bankruptcy trial before Judge Dennis Montali as well as related administrative hearings before the California Public Utilities Commission. As a result of this work, which was performed in coalition with other California counties, Mr. Baker received litigation awards from the California County Counsel Association.
While at the City Attorney�s office, Mr. Baker also represented the city in two personal injury trials and represented the San Francisco Unified School District in a class action case brought under the ADA.
Prior to joining the City Attorney�s office, Mr. Baker was an associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP (1996-1998) and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP (1991-1996). His practice at these firms focused on intellectual property litigation, although it included various other litigation. He graduated from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1991. |
