Carla Nigro focuses on assisting with accountants' professional liability controversies and securities and corporate disputes as a paralegal in Foley Hoag's Litigation Department. She assists with all aspects of discovery and trial including the defense of "Big Four" accounting firms in securities class actions, Securities and Exchange Commission investigations, and professional malpractice claims brought in federal and state courts throughout the United States. She has extensive experience with managing large-scale paper and electronic document productions as well as with the creation of corresponding privilege logs.
As part of her litigation support, Carla has extensive experience in document examination, analyses and control, fact investigation, drafting of pleadings, creating deposition preparation binders and trial preparation. Her document management activities include the preparation of large client document workrooms and maintaining document control. That also involves constructing and maintaining Summation databases and coordinating quality control procedures within databases.
In addition to her commercial litigation involvement, Carla has helped attorneys in the firm's Domestic Violence Abuse Prevention Project to obtain restraining orders. She also supervises and trains incoming cooperative university student interns.
Carla joined Foley Hoag in 2001 after serving for two years as a litigation assistant at another national law firm. Following college graduation she was an advertising assistant with a Cambridge, Massachusetts publisher of scientific journals.
