Carol B. Hallett is a national and international authority on trade transportation and security issues. She serves as Of Counsel to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce assisting the Chamber�s public policy Think Tank the National Chamber Foundation with implementation of the travel and tourism and aviation initiatives. Previously Mrs. Hallett was Chairman of the Homeland Security Practice at Carmen Group Inc. a Washington D.C. legislative consulting firm where she was responsible for building the Homeland Security program.
From 1995 to 2003 Mrs. Hallett served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Air Transport Association of America (ATA) the nation�s largest and most prestigious airline trade association. Mrs. Hallett took the lead in the redesign of airline security policies and practices following 9/11 and was twice named among The Business Travel Industry�s 25 Most Influential Executives. In 1989 she was appointed by President George Bush to serve as U.S. Customs Service Commissioner where she directed a workforce of 20 000 employees and was recognized by the airline industry for her efforts to modernize the Customs Service.
Mrs. Hallett is also a former U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas and former Minority Leader of the California State Assembly. She serves on the Boards of Directors of the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company Rolls Royce-North America and Wackenhut Services Inc. |
