Carolyn B. Gleason is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Washington, D.C. office. She heads the Firm�s Global Trade & Cross Border Strategies Practice Group.

Well recognized expertise in dispute settlement proceedings under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and World Trade Organization (WTO), having served as government counsel and chief private sector counsel in numerous successful dispute settlement actions
Appointed member of the President's U.S. Agricultural Private Sector Advisory Committee since 1994, advising the U.S. government on U.S. trade initiatives and objectives
Extensive experience in all areas of trade relief, including U.S. antidumping and countervailing duty procedures, and on matters relating to the Generalized System of Preferences and other customs issues
Active private sector counsel in multilateral trade negotiations, Free Trade Areas, and bilateral trade disputes
Expert trade counsel in key international food safety and phytosanitary disputes (e.g., red dye, benzoic acid, sulphites, carmine, seed weevil, coddling moth, golden nematode, medfly, Mexican fruit fly)
Client advocate in U.S. export assistance programs, including MAP, Foreign Market Development Cooperator Program, GSM, Cochran Fellowship Program, Section 108, Emerging Markets Program, P.L. 480 and Voluntary Visitors Program
Testifying panelist on several occasions before the U.S. Congress regarding the multilateral trade system and trade legislation
Carolyn has received, by invitation, a degree from the Japanese Business Study Program from the Institute of International Studies and Training in Japan.
