Carson brings over 30 years of experience in the development of broadband communications systems and had previously served as the interim CEO of Protego Networks, which was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2004. Previously, Carson was the Vice President and General Manager of Cisco's Cable and Wireless Platform Division. Carson built and grew Cisco's broadband cable business from its inception to enjoying the dominant industry-wide leadership position. Carson is a visionary and an inspiring executive who has helped chart the direction of new markets, industry standards, and create multiple businesses that took products from their prototype stage to over $1B in annual sales. He led teams that developed Cisco's AGS+ and 7000 Series routers, powering the early expansion of the Internet infrastructure. His teams also developed the first versatile interface processor with distributed routing, the first silicon switching engine, and port-adaptor technologies. Carson is an Electrical Engineering Alumni of Cal. Poly., San Luis Obispo, holds multiple US patents, and has authored a book on Active Filter Design. Carson is also the founding member of InnovationsQuest, a not-for-profit philanthropic corporation that provides seed-funding for commercializing innovative ideas, and serves on the board of several technology companies. Outside of his engagement with Teak, Carson can be found advising and inspiring budding entrepreneurs, fly-fishing for trout, and indulging his creative enthusiasm for high-speed automobiles. |
