Carsten Steinhauer is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Studio Legale Associato based in the Firm's Rome office. As a member of the Firm's Corporate Department, he focuses his practice on corporate law, commercial law and capital markets.
Carsten has extensive experience in the structuring and negotiating of mergers and acquisitions, private equity and project finance transactions, including cross-border transactions. He has assisted a variety of Italian, German and other foreign companies of all dimensions.
He holds a Ph.D. (Dr. jur.) from the University of Freiburg and a masters' degree (LL.M.) from the University of Chicago. Carsten has published a book and several articles on corporate and securities law in Italian, German and English. He is listed as a leading corporate lawyer in the European Legal 500, in European Legal Experts and in Who's Who of Emerging Leaders .
Carsten was admitted to the German Bar in 2000 and to the Italian Bar in 2001.
