Carter W. Clarke (Co-Chairman). Mr. Clarke graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY and later received a Master's Degree in International Affairs from George Washington University. He spent twenty-six years in the U.S. Army in a variety of command and staff positions, attaining the rank of Brigadier General in 1970. Mr. Clarke retired from the Army in 1973 to pursue business interests. From 1975 to 1980, he founded several electronic security companies, ultimately integrating them in 1981 into Security Tag Systems, a public company specializing in electronic article surveillance. Mr. Clarke was the company's CEO and President from inception until its acquisition by Sensormatic Electronics Corporation in June 1993. Following the acquisition, he joined Sensormatic as Director of Corporate Communications. He left Sensormatic in August 1996 to found The Gemesis Corporation and became its Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairman. In 2001, he relinquished the CEO position, remaining as a non-executive Co-Chairman. |
