With extensive practice experience outside of the United States, Catherine Anderson assists clients in a wide range of industries on multinational and cross-border transactional matters. She provides advice on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, helps implement international joint ventures, and offers guidance to clients that seek to establish operations in other countries. On the financing side, Catherine works with investment advisers in the formation of offshore hedge funds, private investment funds and related regulatory compliance.
Before joining Foley Hoag, Catherine practiced for five years in Auckland, New Zealand at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts and Simpson Grierson. Her corporate work there focused on acquisitions and dispositions, commercial contracts, and general company advice. She remains a member of the New Zealand Law Society.
Catherine also has an active domestic corporate and securities practice. She advises a number of companies, including start-up operations, on general corporate matters, helps hedge fund advisers with investment fund formation and regulatory compliance, and counsels on mergers and acquisitions.
