Chad I. Michaelson is an associate at Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP and is a member of the firm�s Business Litigation, Tort Litigation and Construction Law Groups.Mr. Michaelson recently was named a Pennsylvania Rising Star by Law & Politics Magazine. His practice is focused on commercial and construction litigation. He regularly represents clients in intracorporate disputes; assists insurers and insureds in resolving insurance coverage disputes, defends businesses against products liability, negligence and other tort claims and counsels clients with respect to a wide variety of contract disputes. He has represented a wide range of clients large and small in the state and federal courts, as well as in private arbitration proceedings.Mr. Michaelson also represents owners and contractors involved in disputes arising out of both public and private construction projects. He has defended and prosecuted claims for additional compensation for extra work, delays and disruptions and has assisted contractors in filing mechanics� liens to protect their ability to recover payment for their work. He has litigated claims against state agencies before the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Board of Claims and has represented owners and contractors in court and in arbitration proceedings.Mr. Michaelson earned his B.A. in Political Science and History from West Virginia University in 1996 and his Juris Doctor, with Honors, from the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia in 1999. While in law school, he served on the Emory International Law Review as Notes & Comments Editor and was the recipient of the Moffett Litigation Award for his trial advocacy skills. Before relocating to Pittsburgh, he worked as a litigation associate in a large Atlanta law firm.Mr. Michaelson is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Tennessee. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. He is currently Vice President of the Board of Directors of Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, a not-for-profit organization that rehabilitates the homes of low-income and elderly citizens in and around Pittsburgh.A native of Erie, Pennsylvania, Chad currently lives in Mt.
