Charles E. Mapson has served as Chief Legal Executive of NetBank, Inc. since April 2002. He is responsible for all legal matters including new company initiatives, products, services, and managing all outside counsel retained on behalf of the company. He also handles all matters of corporate governance and maintains appropriate licensing and corporate authority in the states where the company and its subsidiaries do business. Mapson had served as Chief Legal Executive of RBMG for a year. Mapson has more than 20 years experience in the legal profession that includes both corporate and private practice experience. He was Assistant General Counsel for Barnett Banks, Inc. and Senior Counsel for First Fidelity Bancorporation. He also held positions with Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti, and with Akerman-Senterfitt, P.A. Mapson is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association. He earned a bachelor�s degree from Morehouse College, and received a master�s in journalism and a juris doctorate from Columbia University.
