Mr. McTiernan was appointed General Counsel of Consolidated Edison, Inc. and Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. on January 1, 2003. He had previously served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel and, at various times, headed up the Law Department�s Sections for commercial litigation, contracts, real estate, and labor and employee relations.
Mr. McTiernan graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School with a J.D. degree where he also served as the Managing Editor of its Law Review. Following law school, he clerked for two years for the Hon. Charles D. Breitel of the New York Court of Appeals and was an associate engaged in commercial litigation at the New York office of Kelley Drye & Warren. He is a member of the General Counsel Roundtable and the Litigation Advisory Committee of the Edison Electric Institute.
