Chaz Wampold is a partner in the firm's Private Client Group.
Areas of Concentration. Chaz focuses his practice on estate planning, litigation of estate and trust-related disputes, administration of large or complex estates and the representation of private foundations and other charitable tax-exempt organizations. Chaz has worked with clients to formulate innovative and often complex estate plans. He has extensive experience in generation-skipping transfer tax planning, estate planning for resident aliens and for U.S. citizens living abroad, charitable giving techniques and planning for the succession of family business interests. Chaz represents both individual and corporate fiduciaries with respect to estate and trust administration. His work covers not only probate matters and trust accountings, but also post-mortem tax planning and income tax planning.
Chaz has extensive courtroom experience in trust and estate matters in the courts of both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has successfully defended fiduciaries in multimillion dollar surcharge actions, and has represented individual and charitable beneficiaries in will contests and in actions involving the construction of wills and trusts, and has prosecuted numerous actions involving the reformation of wills or trusts. In addition, Chaz has successfully navigated tax audits at both the state and federal level, and has also obtained for clients various favorable private letter rulings from the Internal Revenue Service. |
