Charles M. Hamann is a Casner & Edwards partner whose practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning and related tax and estate and trust administration. Mr. Hamann also has experience in matters involving charitable planned giving, employee benefits and real estate law (in particular, residential real estate transactions and zoning matters). Mr. Hamann has been recognized as a Super Lawyer� in Boston Magazine and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America� Mr. Hamann is a past president of the Boston Estate Planning Council and has been a frequent lecturer for MCLE and other organizations on topics related to estate planning and administration. He has published articles on the durable power of attorney and is co-author of Drafting Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts, an MCLE publication. Mr. Hamann is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of its Charitable Planning and Exempt Organization and Employee Benefits committees. He is also a member of the American, Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations. Mr. Hamann has been active in town affairs in Belmont where he has resided for many years. He is a member of Belmont�s representative Town Meeting and chair of the Belmont By-law Review Committee, which is responsible for reviewing amendments of the Town�s General By-laws. Previously, he served as a member and chair of Belmont�s Warrant (Finance) Committee and as a member of its Zoning Board of Appeals. Mr. Hamann graduated from Yale University where he received a B.A., magna cum laude, and where he was elected a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He received an L.L.B. degree from Harvard Law School. Following his graduation from Harvard, he clerked for the justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court. |
