Charlie graduated from the University of Texas with his B.B.A. in Banking and Finance. He was President of the Banking and Finance Club as well as a member of the R.O.T.C. where he was recognized as an Outstanding Cadet. Charlie has been in the banking industry for more than 50 years and has been self-employed as a bank consultant since 1989. He provides many services including strategic planning director education programs and assistance with regulatory relationships. Charlie began his banking career as a Bank Examiner with the FDIC and then went on to River Oaks Bank & Trust as a commercial lending officer. He has been a Director/Chairman of 20 Texas banks.
He frequently speaks at seminars and was the recipient of the 50 Year Banker Award from the Texas Bankers� Association. Charlie was previously employed by Allied Bancshares (now Wells Fargo) a multi-billion dollar bank holding company for over two decades. There he served as CEO of a major affiliate bank held the title of Regional Banking Executive and was a member of the Holding Company Board of Directors. Charlie was responsible for coordinating the activities of up to seven other banks directing a images/staff of over one hundred and fifty people. He served as Chairman of the Board for each of the banks and gave direction and counsel to the CEOs.
Charlie also served as Senior Vice President at Alex Sheshunoff Management Services a bank consulting and professional services firm. He has served as Trustee for Spring Branch ISD and Houston Baptist University as President of the Spring Branch - Memorial Chamber of Commerce and as Vice Chairman of the Crimestoppers in Houston. Charlie is an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Houston area PTA and Teachers� Association and was named Citizen of the Year by the Spring Branch - Memorial Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Lions Club and serves as deacon for Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin.
Charlie and his wife enjoy boating reading and traveling in their RV. He believes that his intimate knowledge of both the industry and his community will allow him to contribute to the success of Treaty Oak Bank. |
