Charles Westbrook, Chief Technical Advisor of Reaction Design’s Model Fuels Consortium. Most recently, a computational physicist in the Chemistry and Materials Science Directorate at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His research interests include computer simulations of chemically reactive flows, with an emphasis on chemical kinetics of combustion. He has carried out modeling studies of hydrocarbon and other fuel reactions in detonations, flames and flame inhibition, engine knock, Diesel engine ignition, pulse combustors, soot formation, chemical pollutant emissions, and other systems. He recently presented a Combustion Institute 50th Anniversary plenary lecture on Computational Combustion at the International Combustion Symposium. He is currently Deputy Editor of Combustion and Flame and a member of the Editorial Board of four other combustion journals, and the President-Elect of the Combustion Institute. |
