Biography
Cheryl Poulin Leb joined Kelly Hart & Hallman following her graduation in 1998 as a J.D., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University School of Law. Ms. Leb counsels clients in various commercial contract matters and business transactions, including the negotiation and preparation of technology agreements, copyright and trademark licenses, online licenses, and print publishing agreements. She has assisted clients in the structuring and documentation of complex strategic alliance agreements for the joint development, use, and dissemination of intellectual property. Ms. Leb also counsels clients on the protection and registration of intellectual property assets, including filing registrations with the United States Copyright Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. As part of her practice, Ms. Leb has worked on numerous unique transactions, such as the licensing of clients' names, likenesses and rights of publicity. In connection with her representation of companies within the medical information and technology industry, Ms. Leb regularly advises clients regarding the applicability of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and, as required by the Act, negotiates Business Associate Agreements on their behalf.
Although Ms. Leb's primary concentration is in technology and intellectual property matters, she also represents clients in real estate transactions involving the acquisition and disposition of commercial and ranch properties.
Ms. Leb and her husband have two daughters.
